The modern day Hypnotist is considered by most to be a Guide. The hypnotized person has at least two ego centers operating simultaneously. Where there is a hypnotized ego operative, center stage, doing the work and receiving suggestions, there is always an observing ego operative off stage, monitoring what is going on - and quite capable of interrupting the session if anything it disagrees with were to be suggested.
"If a hypnotist ever suggested something I didn't want to do, I simply wouldn't do it... I never felt like I was not in control."
"There is a strong part of my mind that always seams to know everything that is going on."
