Age Regression

Regression Therapy is just that. You regress under hypnosis to another time in your life.

  1. Depending on the course of exploration you may visit a happier time, for say pain displacement, or a time that an event took place that may have left a negative impression on your memory for purposes of closer examination of the event, possibly to lessen its affect (behavior mod) on you or to deconstruct the event and remove its influence (phobias) on you.
  2. To deconstruct an event (phobia) a method called "circle therapy" is often used where you regress to the event then view it, as either an observer or participant,  several times. With each viewing the influence of the event lessens until it becomes benign.
  3. For pain relief regression is sometimes employed as a way to alleviate remembered or phantom pains. The more pleasant memory can be used to replace the "triggered" phantom pain.

Your guide (hypnotist) will suggest to you what is referred to as a hook. A hook is a physical event, usually something like being touched on the shoulder, and is established with your conscious and subconscious before being regressed. The purpose of the hook is to instantly bring you back to the present. This will allow you to repeatedly visit the event, without fear, lessoning its emotional impact with each regressive visit.
